CONVERSATIONS with Ed Tracy is a Chicago-based interview series recorded for future podcast. Ed Tracy, the former President and long-time Program Host and Executive Producer of Pritzker Military Library Presents and Medal of Honor with Ed Tracy, guides thoughtful and engaging conversations with authors and influential leaders in the arts, media and business.


ED TRACY is an award-winning television and webcast producer, author, editor and program host. A career nonprofit professional, Tracy is President of Roxbury Road Creative, LLC, a Chicago-based professional management company that collaborates with individual and nonprofit partners to research and develop long-range strategic, operational design and marketing plans, special event and exhibit projects and new media including film, television, print, publishing, social media, internet broadcast and live programming.  His recent book, Gorilla in the Room and Other Stories was published by Koehler Books in February 2021.

As the founding Director and later President and CEO, Tracy led the Chicago team that built the first Pritzker Military Library (now “Museum and Library”) in 2003 and headed up the design, project management and opening of the new facility in 2010. Tracy created and hosted the Library’s live webcast and PBS television programs Pritzker Military Library Presents and Medal of Honor with Ed Tracy for nine seasons. In all, over 300 hours of live interviews and book presentations form the core of the library’s extensive online archive. Recognized as an Official Honoree of the Webby Awards five times, the Library was honored as the 2009 recipient of the National Medal for Museum and Library Services, the nation’s highest honor for libraries and museums. From 2002 to 2010, he served concurrently as Vice President, Tawani Foundation and prior to that, on the Advancement and Public Affairs staff at Norwich University from 1989 to 2002 in his hometown of Northfield, Vermont.

Tracy has produced major events and hosted presentations for the City of Chicago, WYCC PBS Chicago 20, CSPAN2 BookTV, NPR, National World War II Museum, Intrepid Air and Space Museum, EbertFest, the Union League Club of Chicago, National Writers Series, Norwich University, Corporate Council for Africa, National Symphony Orchestra, Richard H. Driehaus Museum, Chicago History Museum, the Sarah Siddons Society, and served as Co-Chair of the 2009 Chicago Medal of Honor Society Annual Convention. In 1995, with W.E.B. Griffin, Carlo D’Este and the late William E. Colby, he established the first military writers program, later named, the William E. Colby Military Writers’ Symposium at Norwich and served as Executive Director of the Colby Symposium through 2005. Tracy received a Chicago Midwest Regional Emmy Award as Executive Producer and Co-Host of the live broadcast of the Medal of Honor Convention Opening Ceremony at Soldier Field on NBCChicago.com and the Military Channel. Tracy is a member of the American Theatre Critics Association, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) and a 25-year member of the National Press Club.
